Dr. McKernan is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has served as a physician for over 35 years. For more than a decade, Dr. McKernan has primarily focused on restorative reproductive medicine, including Natural Procreative Technology (NaPro), for infertility, miscarriage, and treating women’s health conditions without using artificial hormones. He has successfully delivered more than 2,500 babies and has helped several couples achieve and preserve pregnancy.

Dr. McKernan earned his medical degree at the University of New England and completed residency in Family Practice at the Brighton Medical Center in Portland, Maine. He is married to Michelle and has eight children. Outside Vitae Family Care, he enjoys reading, gardening, woodworking, studying his faith, and spending time with his family.

Kaatlyn has a bachelor’s degree in nursing and has served at Vitae Family Care for over 10 years. She has a passion for life and people and loves working with children. Outside Vitae Family Care, she enjoys volunteering with local refugees through her church, baking, painting, and spending time with her family and friends.

Michelle has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s in special education. She has taught the Creighton Model Fertility Care System for over ten years and has a passion for life and people and loves working with young mothers. Michelle is married to Dr. Gregory McKernan and has eight children. Outside Vitae Family Care, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
